Designer Carolina Herrera is well known for her own personal sense of style and has even dressed first ladies of the United States including Michelle Obama. Her sensationally styled items were mostly dresses in the 80’s, with the additional of an instant classic perfume line, that had its own flashy Ad campaign back in 2009. The company has been based in New York City since 1980, and in 1981 the brand received recognition from several key publications, including Women’s Wear Daily.

The eye wear collection’s last real refresh was in 2011 so this comprehensive new 2013 line represents a long awaited infusion of color, style and elegance to the Carolina Herrera collection.

When you look at the sunglasses and eyeglass models you’ll notice that there are ideas borrowed from top designer models including Tom Ford and Gucci and Chloe in this collection but of course there are many distinctive elements that make this line different. Specifically you’ll notice an obsessive focus on adornments and small details on the temple and stone adornments on the temple tips. There are also several models embellished with the CH logo on the end pieces and hinges. You’ll also notice sharp edges and bold color contrast in this year’s collections.
