Meet Jess Dempsey
Meet Jess Dempsy. Mum of two boys, Chanel lover, coffee guru, local resident of Melbourne and VisionDirect’s newest ambassador.
In 2010, Jess left her job as a Visual Merchandiser and Celebrity Stylist to create her own fashion blog to share her creativity and luxe style inspiration with others. Her blog, What Would Karl Do, boasts a wide variety of columns including everyday wear, maternity style, insights into local and international fashion events and interior design compilations.
She got the name for her blog from Karl Lagerfeld, head creative director and designer of luxury fashion house Chanel, who is and has always been one of Jess’s biggest inspirations when it comes to style.
I love sunglasses and I always go for classic luxe brands such as Chloe, Dolce & Gabbana and Celine.
When we asked Jess which eyewear styles and brands she usually goes for, she told us, “I love sunglasses and I always go for classic luxe brands such as Chloe, Dolce & Gabbana and Celine.”
That’s why we weren’t surprised when Jess picked out these beautiful Chloe Carlina sunnies to take home. Oversized sunglasses are particularly popular during the cool winter months and are perfect to throw on with a big cosy sweater.
When we asked what her favourite eyewear looks are, she said “I love oversized and round. These shapes suit my style and reflect the 70’s vibe I love.”
When we first approached Jess, we had no idea she knew about us. That’s why we were surprised to discover that she has bought many pairs of eyewear from VisionDirect over the years. As a mum of two paired with a busy, full-time job as a fashion blogger, I guess online shopping does have its perks!

Trends to Watch
As part of her job, Jess has to be on top of the latest fashion trends and brand collections. Her frequent appearances at local runway events and international fashion shows give her great insight into what to expect for the coming seasons trends.
When asked about eyewear trends for next Spring/Summer she admitted, “I am loving the mirrored lenses as seen by Dior and Chanel and Ray Ban. I think the pop of colour on the sunglasses will be seen on the streets in Summer.”
